Happy Happy!

Hey there!

Here’s wishing everyone’s Howl-o-ween was SO sweet it made them keel over in ecstasy!

My apologies for not blogging in a while. We got sucked into the trade show vortex, revamped the website, designed a couple new lines, and did awesome at the California Gift Show Super Zoo

* If you have the attention span of a gnat, at least scroll down to the bottom  of this newsy post for info on our sample sale and a free $25 from American Express.*

This year went by faster than a Kardashian marriage! We can’t believe it’s already JCLA’s one year anniversary!! Time flies when you’re having fun!  We could not have made it without you, our dear supporters and cherished customers.  Don’t forget to sign up for our refreshingly infrequent e-newsletter to receive your special JCLA anniversary discount code.  You don’t want to miss this- it only comes once a year!

JCLA’s official trade show debut was at the California Gift show in July.  We were honored to be named “Fresh Find” by CGS.   If you missed it, here’s the press release on JCLA .  Gift Show attendees called our Rescue Me totes, “the best product in the entire show!”  Louisa, of Rock It Pet, said, “I’m sitting here looking at the Foxy Feline bag and it’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! I’m getting heart palpitations just looking at it!”

All of the positive feedback had us smiling from ear to ear. If you missed the show, no worries, we’ll be exhibiting again at the LA Convention Center January 20-23 2012.  Come see us in South Hall at booth # 1944 of the California Gift Show. Fri-Sun 9am-6pm, Monday 9am-4pm.

Orders continued to pour in at the industry’s largest pet trade show, Super Zoo.  This enourmous show at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas was chock full of outstanding gear and supplies for pets.  Mr. Truffle had the time of his life and our buyers not only wanted to take the bags home, they wanted to snatch HIM up as well. Here he is on break doing his signature froggy doggie army crawl with elfin magic ears. 🙂  His antics often earn him buckets of Greenies, deer antler horns, clothing, and Doggie jerky. We are always shocked by the generosity of the show vendors.  Thanks to them I have one seriously spoiled pup.

Nestled amongst the booths on “Rodeo Drive”at Super Zoo, we unveiled the new Bond Girl Smuggler purse .  This is THE bag everyone has been asking for.  Literally.  When you talk, I actually listen. I took note of all the features that my retail store owners (a special thank you to The Beverly Hills Mutt Club), and customers were wishing they had in a bag, added a little JCLA attitude, and viola!  The Bond Girl Smuggler. The name…well, that’s how I feel when I need to bring Truffle into a no dog zone.  I am Bond, Jane Bond, on a mission impossible…unless I design the right bag to pull it off. Muahaha!

Carlene Manhanna, taste maker from Pupstyle.com flipped over the Smuggler and put her two pups, Emmet and Mei Mei, inside for a little test drive.

An exhausted me with 2 cuties I'd like to dog-nap in the Bond Girl Smuggler

Buyers loved the stylish look and plush, easy to clean, pet compartment. Of course our signature purse paw feet at the bottom of the bag made everyone smile. Faces lit up at all the features designed for the comfort and convenience of both dog and mommy. The non slip padded shoulder strap saves your shoulder, while all of the pockets in the two seperate side compartments keep all your shopping, glamour, and doggie supplies organized.

Though everyone mistakes it for a leather bag, we would never kill a cow to save a chihuahua! 🙂 The bag is made of thick faux leather, and like our micro mink faux fur, I always select luxurious animal friendly materials that never look or feel cheap.  Our hearts were warmed by remarks  from the buyers that our bags were simply, “best in show.”

Love at first site. This buyer would not leave without the bag.We have a limited supply of the Bond Girl Smuggler and can hardly wait until they arrive on December 1st, just in time for the holidays!  With pre-orders piling up, it’s best to reserve yours today.

Stores that were able to snatch up some pre-launch Bond Girl Bags: Beverly Hills Mutt Club (Los Angeles, CA), Bailey Blue (Montreal , Quebec), Glamourpaws (Atlanta GA & Oakland CA.), & Jumi’s World (Hawaii & Japan) have the bag in store for viewing today. The bag is ideal for two small dogs or one 12 lb dog.

In Los Angeles, the Beverly Hills Mutt Club, Maxwell Dog, Alex Roldan Salon at the London Hotel, The Perfect Impression (Aliso Viejo, CA.), Shaggy Chic (Oak Park, CA), Compliments LTD. (Indian Wells, CA), and Lucky Dog, (Las Vegas) will be amongst the first retail stores to have the Bond Girl bag by Dec. 1st.

Super Zoo also brought on more inquiries from the press. I had the pleasure of being interviewed via Skype by Pet Fashion TV in Canada.  The interview should air in January. We are honored that The Pet Elite also featured our Rescue Me totes in one of their recent issues. Will post it once we get our paws on a copy.  LIFE + DOG also expressed interest in an interview. I was happy to hear that Sweet Plumeria also featured JCLA in their blog that scours the planet for exquisite finds.

If you’re been living under a rock and still don’t have a Rescue Me tote, help is on the way! We’re teaming up for the first time with select couture pet designers to fulfill your holiday dreams.  Its a doggie designer sample sale! Everything from accessories, outfits, and JCLA bags all at 30-60% off! If you live in LA, this is an event not to be missed.

Speaking of local events we love meeting our customers all over Los Angeles.  Best Friends put on the fabulous Strut Your Mutt at the Pan Pacific Park raising tons of money towards ending the plight of homeless pets.  We were thrilled to be a part of the event and happy to send so many of you home with Rescue Me totes!

After Strut Your Mutt we enjoyed a little R&R at the Surf Dog competition in San Diego. Truffle took his first steps on the beach and seemed to instinctively mount surf boards without any suggestion or encouragement.   We continued the fun in San Diego by participating in their Pet Expo with celebrity guest Victoria Stilwell. Many dogs were blessed by getting adopted that weekend and some of the generous owners got their new pups a Rescue Me tote.

Another way we like to engage with our community is by donating to silent auctions for animal rescue.

Diamonds not Fur Gala at Voyeur in West Hollywood

Most recently we donated bags and discount cards to Diamonds Not Fur for SPCA LA, American Humane, Stray Cat Alliance, Humane Society of Elkhart County, CAPE, & Arizona Desert Labrador Retreiver Rescue.
